From the Neolithic, people began to
construct monuments that are still visible today. Without
archaeological investigation these are not always datable to a
more precise period than just 'prehistoric'. There are more
sites classified as 'prehistoric' on the Herefordshire Sites and
Monuments database than are ascribed to any of the more
specific periods.
